My best friend from my Track and Field days has one that we call Jackie. Love that car, even if it is a 3 valve. Apparently has one of the best flowing factory intakes in any car Ford has produced (sound familiar?). It's the little things that Ford left out that give this car character. No spoiler, no grill badge etc. Some people think the brushed aluminum trim on the inside looks tacky, I think it adds to the car personally. I wold be proud to have one in my garage next to the Marauder.

For what the classic bullitt was, this one isn't even close.
Ford rushed this project
Kill it with fire!!:flamer:

I think they did a better job with the 2008 than the 2001 model. Neither should have been available in any color besides Dark Highland Green though

In 2001 a old co worker of mine bought one from Battlefield Ford in Virginia ,it was at the time the only supercharged, one built by Sean Highland ,I haven't seen it in a few years and as far as I know he still has it /all Bullets :burnout:are numbered cars

Bullit was a great movie, Steve McQueen is one of my favorite actors. The movie has prob the best car chase scene IMHO, no CGI just film.
I actually forgot they made a 3V Bullit Mustang, not interested in buying one, ever.
I gotta say though I do love the first gen S197 body style, I own one myself and I really do prefer it to the newer body styles.

Not impressed.
All they do now is throw some different paint, wheels, stripes etc. and call it something else.......
Gone are the real Shelby, Baldwin, Yenko, etc. where they did more than just fluff.
Now, if someone would give me one I'd take it.

Agreed and May the " FE Engine block Family" Rest in Peace :burnout:
I had the 2001, 2008 and 2009. Not a true high performance car but fun to drive and looks good. Basically the '08 and '09 versions were early 2010's with the Highland Green paint and limited accessories.
here's a factory window sticker for one. . .

Considering what the original was? It wasnt nothing that special..they had to mod it just to somewhat keep up with a bone stock 440 charger r/t. The charger was the better car in that chase.

Very bland, can't believe people still pay more than regular mustang GT prices for it. Joke indeed.

That was the whole point!!! Didnt anyone actually watch bullit?
As far as making it fast, that would have just raised the price more ...detective frank bullit wouldnt have been able to afford his own car!

If you like it that is what matters most. I for one really like the car - yes I'd jump on the list of folks who say it didn't come with enough extra performance (handling or power) but it is a cool car. The MM was a big disappointment to me as well when I first test drove it, mostly because it didn't meet my hopes of what it could have been or what I heard it was going to be.

Agreed. Was the Bullitt package worth it? Maybe not for over three grand, but the car itself looks great. I'm actually not feelin' the looks of the 15 'Stang. Too much like an Audi or something. No doubt that it's on purpose now that it's meant to be sold around the world. The way I see it, this was the last Mustang style built by Americans, for Americans. 2015 and beyond is all gonna be compromises to please the world. I'm probably getting too far off topic now, but it bothers me.

What do you think about the new Hennessey Mustang?

^ 717HP of pure goodness. I love the new mustang, although the front has a hideously large grille with too small/far apart headlights.

I wasnt being serious :alone:
another Mustang option besides the Bullitt could be the 2014 Hertz Penske Mustang rentals-

some used ones are starting to show up for sale around the US

Although that is indeed a VERY vice Mustang, it has been un-bullitted and lost its appeal to me as a Bullitt. Bullitt is all about being plain and under stated and stealthy.
Bob
There are still low mileage '08's and '09's out there, even saw an '01 posted recently on cars.com.
It's all up to how it makes you feel whether or not to get one.
I know when I had them I was always receiving compliments
and they were fun to drive. Wish I could have kept them all!!!!!!!!!!!
