How the heck are you?
I'm doing ok, just wish I could have gotten that cardio test done today.
I've been welding on my Mustang project the past few days. I also have been helping out a teenage friend with his Nissan 240zx (think that's what it is). He wanted me to weld up his fart can exhaust, that's done, but I need to rebuild one of his frame rails in the front, as it suffers from the rust in a major way.
My wife and daughter will be winging down to Florida tommorrow to visit her parents ( daughters grandparents, my in-laws) dang shame I won't be going too. ;)
Well, hope this finds everyone healthy and happy.
Let me know what you are up to!
Best wishes,
Your MM.net buddy,
Rich Long

Why don't you mind your own business???
Haven't you got something better to do than waste my time?????
Gee, I was just getting ready to bash Todd and now you have distracted me.

Being crazy delivers a certain and special comfort. I enjoy this "zone," it helps me manage my staff.
"There once was a man from Kent"...Ummm wait...Naw.
"Life is like a box of chocolates"....err...colder.
"Where's the beef?" awe gawd! Delete! Sorry...
"You slimey, greasy, gooey, dopey, smelly, goof mutha****er"...Ummm, well, yeah, I do love Samuel Jackson, but this isn't a good fit here.
"English mutha****er, can you speak it!"...Sam! Go to your room! Now!
Ya know, I'm sitting here and paging back through my head, just like y'all sometimes sit and page back through memories of old girlfriends, wondering where they are today, how they're doing now (without you) and how they survived it all without your sorry butt in their lives and now that you have the Internet you a can find them and call them and maybe get laid one more time...Yeah, I'm paging back...
And all I can come up with is this unfinished list of mumbo-jumbo words, a phrase that has the words "Anita Bryant", "queers", and "orange juice" in it.
Someone help me?
Word association is not a safe game. Your HMO makes a lot of money from them, but don't do this at home, K? And not in front of the Kids.
BTW...I have a new e-mail addy, write this down, and down and down...It's "sergntmac.inayellowsubmarine.y ellowsubmarine.yellowsubmarine .break.sergntmac.inayellowsubm arine.yellowsubmarine.yellowsu bmarine.dot.commmmm"
Feel better? Me neither...And I won't ever feel better until I get my own copy of that classic film where Gene Hackman and Lee Marvin drive all over the Midwest in wheat thrashers, chasing a young and naked Sissy Spacek until they run over each other. When will this moving and significant screen drama come to DVD? Y'all missed this excitement in "Point Blank" anyway...so, nevermind.
Okay, I'm done. Yes, thank you Nurse, Suzy is it? You have nice legs Suzy...I like white clothes, heavy starch please...

My goodness, that doesn't sound very pleasant, although i'm always willing to give anything a try. Heck, some of the things I eat would probably sound pretty disgusting as well. One of my favorites is carefully steamed beef tripe sliced and dipped in a Korean vinegar based hot pepper sauce. Beef tripe also works well when you put it in a beef broth based soup. I also love chicken gizards fried in a batter with a cayenne pepper based hot sauce on it. And of course I don't mind spam which is really just about every part of the car and pig ground and mixed together as well..............
My schedule is pretty slammed, but I do hope i'll be able to make to at least one of the Marauder events this year.

If you eat all that other stuff, Haggis is a chocolate sundae in comparison.
Funny, people who refuse to eat Haggis usually have no problem eating hot dogs, Farmer Sausage, summer sausage, Bratworst, liver worst, etc etc........

Nanaimo Bars
The original recipe for this was reportedly invented by a Woman from Naimo British Columbia. Whether it's true or not I don't know, but I've always called these Nanaimo Bars, and never heard of them called anything other than Great!
3/4 cup (175mL) butter or margarine
1/4 cup (50mL) white sugar
1 egg
4 tbsp (50mL) pure Cocoa
2 cups (500mL) graham-wafer crumbs
1 cup (250mL) shredded coconut
1/2 cup (125mL chopped nuts
3 tbsp (45mL) milk
2 tbsp (25mL) vanilla custard powder
2 cups (500mL) sifted icing sugar
4 1-ounce (28g) squares semi-sweet chocolate
1 tbsp (15mL) butter or margarine
In top of large double boiler, combine 1/2 cup (125mL) of the butter or margarine, white sugar, egg, and cocoa.
Stir over boiling water until mixture resembles custard.
In a separate bowl, mix crumbs, coconut, and nuts. Add to custard mixture and blend well. Press tightly into ungreased 9-inch (2.5 L) square pan.
Cream the remaining 1/4 cup (50mL) butter or margarine, milk, custard powder, and icing sugar. Spread over first mixture and place briefly in freezer.
Melt chocolate and 1 tbsp (15mL) butter or margarine over hot water. Spread over chilled layer and refrigerate.
Cut into squares

Yukon Orange Bread
this sweet tea-bread recipe is more than 100 years old. Settlers prized it's crunchy crust.
Peel from 2 medium oranges, finely grated
1/3 cup 975mL) water
13/4 cups (425mL) sugar
1 egg
2 cups (500mL) flour
2 tsp (10mL) baking powder
1 tsp (5mL) salt
3/4 cup (175mL) milk
In a small covered saucepan, simmer peel in water for about 6 minutes, or until peel is softened. Add 1 cup (250mL) of the sugar and stir. Simmer, covered, 15 minutes or until slightly thickened. Remove cover during last 5 minutes of simmering. Cool slightly.
Meanwhile, beat egg and gradually add the remaining 3/4 cup (175mL) sugar. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to egg mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Mixture will be stiff. Fold in orange-peel mixture. Pour into greased 8x4x3-inch (1.5 L) loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour, or until top is golden, at 350 F (180 C). Cool for 45 minutes in pan before removing to rack.

This thread is out of control. :D
Dr Caleb
04-23-2004, 03:13 PM
Ahhh! Control is an illusion created by the mind! Our normal state of mind is such that our thoughts and emotions are wild and unruly, and since we lack the mental discipline needed to tame them, we are powerless to control them. As a result, they control us. And thoughts and emotions, in their turn, tend to be controlled by our negative impulses rather than our positive ones.
So, really, this thread is conforming to the chaos within the universe.
Really, what you should have said is "This thread appears to be within the normal parameters of the universal state of entropy."

Did you ever start something, like a project or a statement, and later realize that somewhere, somehow, it was bad idea?
Me, too.
But this thread was NOT one of them......
Dang this fun.
Ok, beer, man's best friend?
Discuss amongst yourselves .

Okay, I know beer can be considered a man's best friend, but I still don't understand how so many people like beer. I just can't get myself to ever like the taste of it, and the only one that i've ever liked was Samual Smith's Oatmeal style which is pretty hard to find. I guess i'm more of a fan of the wussy type drinks...............

Scotch - preferred single malt - Laphroaig. Islay single malt, 10 years. Mmmmm.
Preferred beer - Guinness. With apple cider, if I'm feeling rich.

Other than the whole issue of it being a 14 page off-topic thread, this is a 5 star thread... Time for it to be put to bed though...
