Pass - Just hard to imagine a GN in any color other than black. It reminds me too much of this unholy aberration....

Interesting..

If you're into GN's, here's one that was actually used by the Louisville, KY police..I know other agencies had them as well.

I can't say I've ever seen a Red Grand National before. There used to be a 82 Silver one, w the "Buick" on the quarter panel, by my parents house. It sat at an apartment complex for years, and I never saw it move.

If I am not mistaken ,many Buicks other than black were listed a 'T-Type Turbo Regal's.,with the turbo logo on the sides. The Red GN was a real Rarity.

The red one was only a prototype. The silver/charcoal car with buick on the 1/4 was the 82 GN most of which were not 3.8 turbo cars. The non GN turbo cars prior to 87 were t-type regals and in 87 they dropped the moniker and the T was just a package. There was an all black turbo T in 87 that was not a GN, the we4. Basically a GN minus the seats. 87 had a kind of variations. Turbo base regals, turbo limoteds...etc etc..there was also a run of two tone cars, aka designer series, D82 in 87 and wh1 prior. For those who dont know 84 was the first year the GN was all black and it was turbocharged and sequential fuel injected. Same for 85 and they added the intercooler in 86 as well as changing the turbo and intake config.

Sob story: back in...'93 maybe?...we were all set to buy an '87 GN for a good price.. Mary took it for a ride and we probably would have bought it, but when she returned to the dealer, the manager came out and told her he was sorry, she shouldn't have been allowed to take it for a test drive: it was already sold. :censor:
