Got the hauler this morning and if it had not been for the "Good Ole Boy" owner knowing his stuff I'd be out in the cold again!!:mad2:
Their damn computer program "denies rental" for anything less than a RAM 3500 "One Ton" dually.....WHAT??:mad2:
The owner said he knows my RAM is good for about 8K#......the car and hauler are around 6400# and the hauler has great brakes!! This is a new trailer and damn nice!! BTW, I hauled my Healey Replica in my neighbor's with a total weight of 7K# and it has a FLAT nose so the Marauder should be better for wind loading??;)
Drove the car on it like it was made for it......gonna take my time tomorrow and get it there in one piece!!:D
Stay tuned!!:D

Set the Cruise on 55 MPH and hit the road.....5 hours later we arrived at Shrader Performance without a problem....pulled BEAUTIFULLY!!
What was unbelievable is the truck managed 13.4 MPG...much better than I thought!!
Plus when I started the car to back it off the hauler it ran PERFECTLY.....GO FIGGER!!
We'll see what the "Autopsy" reveals.......stay tuned!!

I towed my MM with a Suburban 1500 and no issues at all, yep their website is horrible when it comes to towing specifications.

I towed my MM with a Suburban 1500 and no issues at all, yep their website is horrible when it comes to towing specifications.
U-Haul website listed ALL the requirements (as justbob and others said) and my "Tow Vehicle" exceeded EVERY requirement but when the lady put it into their "Rental Computer" it showed a LOT of red text and would not allow that combination!!:mad2:
She continued to plug in combinations until the following was accepted:
Tow Vehicle: 2004 Dodge RAM 3500 1 TON
Vehicle Towed: 2004 Dodge Dakota
WTF!!??
I suppose if I had had any problems they would have denied ANY claim since they could say I deceived them??:(
They need to change their website specs BUT that would PUT THEM OUT OF BIDNESS!!
BTW......it was a fantastic trailer and I'd like to have one if I did this sort of thing on a regular basis......I HOPE NOT for the Marauder again!!;)
