Guys, I'll be doing some driveway maintenance here in the next couple of days, I'm buying all of the listed parts from rockauto.com, If I got something wrong or if I need to buy a specific part over something else then please let me know before I press BUY.

PCV valve, heated one
IAC Valve
Goodyear gatorback belt
fuel filter
MFS switch (for intermittent turn signal)
Window switch (for bad drivers side window button)
Hood lift struts
locking fuel cap

Okay, anything else I should look into before I purchase? I want to be able to save some dollars and do this maintenance myself. Of course an oil change, I'll take that to the shop. The car has a brand new air filter in it, and ALL outside lights have been replaced besides the fogs and heads.

Can ya'll think of anything else that I may be missing?

I buy at rockauto too. When your on their site, check for their promotions and rebates. The icon is in the upper right corner of the page.

I picked up platinum spark plugs for next to nothing when they were having a sale.

Windshield wipers were 1.00 each!

Higher wattage headlight bulbs are fairly cheap at RA

Why are you replacing the IAC? Is the engine having idling issues?

Also, the PCV valve isn't heated on these cars...the connection into the upper intake plenum is heated.

I always replace the IAC on my cars, did it on my cobra and on my grand marquis.

so should I buy it with or without heated for the pcv?

I bought the STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Part # V397 {137600HA, 1F1Z6A666AA, 2X4Z6A666AA, AJ5113890, AJ9513890, V357, V431}

Don't know if it's heated or not. rockauto.com doesn't say.

Should I get the motorcraft one that says "w/o heat"?

just checked the alternate part numbers listed for the non-motorcraft pcv that I bought, it has the same part number as the motorcraft one so I should be good to go.

If I were to replace the IAC, I would only buy Ford / Motorcraft. Costs more , but no issues. Been there done that on a 97 F-150 I owned in the past. If the IAC was not causing a problem I wouldn't replace it. Just my 2 cents.

Here are some P/N's:

Gatorback (Goodyear) – 4060922 - stock

Motorcraft – FG800A (larger than stock, use hose clamp to secure it to stock bracket, bend the stock bracket to fit the new filter)

If you need new gas filter clips - NAPA - FILNCK11 – qty. 10 fuel filter clips

PCV - MOTORCRAFT EV257 - remember to reuse the plastic elbow from the old PCV.

thanks, fast! I'll keep ya'll updated. :)

I want to replace the IAC for good measure, I don't want it to leave me stranded like my MGM did, that's why when I got my Cobra I replaced it immediately.

Quick, easy preventive mainteance in my opinion.

for the gatorback belt, rock auto is showing part number 4060926, should I be concerned since I already purchased?

I'm sure I'll be fine...

FWIW If you buy the Hitachi IAC from rock auto it is indeed a genuine Ford part. It will come in the Hitachi box with the Ford part numbers actually machined off. I just bought one last week, and it works perfectly. Same goes for the Hitachi MAF sensor..that I bought a few months ago and was very pleased to see it's genuine. Rock auto lists the Hitachi as an OE parts manufacturer.

The way the ford logos and part numbers are machined off are exactly like the parts from Ford's fleet parts program known as "scratch" parts. They're sold at very low prices to Fleet dealers and authorized resellers. I use many of these parts at work on our Crown Vic's.

60,000 miles...sooner if it gets sludged up and stop working.

If it's loose inside when you shake it it's OK. I occasionally spray carb cleaner in mine.

I've got 150K and the IAC was acting up when cold with a rolling idle, and when warm was causing the air box to hum at closed throttle...new IAC..car runs like a champ.
