This is in my 1993 Mustang GT. It's driving me insane. It just started yesterday. I thought it was the radio. I've removed it. It's not the factory door chime either. The car had an alarm on it at one time. I've been under the dash and nothing seems aftermarket looking to me. I will PayPal the first person $10 whom successfully tells me what it is and what to do about it.

Doesn't sound factory.

Try pulling fuses one at a time, when the noise stops you've found the circuit. Check the circuit for anything added on.

Sounds like someone hooked up my alarm clock to your car --- some kind of alarm/warning. Here it is from his other post on the same subject >>>>>

The chime reminding the driver key is still in the ignition has an issue or possibly the seat belt reminder system.

It probably beeps when the air bag light is burnt out.

Yeah. That doesn't sound factory to me either. Does it always do it? KOER, KOEO or just key off engine off.

sounds like a back up alarm.

Did you post up a thread on Corral? If you need me to, I could start a thread over there for you.

Agreed with the AIR bag light or module.
The MArauder will make a similar noise if the bulb is burnt out.

Sounds like door chime that has water in it or, an obstruction making a different than normal sound.

I unplugged #18 and it stopped. Started the car and all my gauges went straight to the top

I haven't started a thread on corral just yet. Don't think corral in on tapatalk and I dislike using my phone to access the site.

The airbag light was flashing and have been since I got the car. I just checked again, and the airbag light isn't flashing anymore. Hmm. My old 93 coupe flashed as well.

#18 = warning indicator lamps, possibly feeding back to airbag diag module as said above?
Unplug module, put fuse #18 back in.....

I was thinking of replacing the airbag bulb back in and see what happens

So what does removing the module do? Does that disable the airbag or is it already disabled because the light is blinking telling me so??

I'm just guessing based on the other replies..
it could tell you that with a good dash light in, the module out of equation , and the buzzing stops = module bad, not the dash light

My 90 Mustang does it sometimes but not as loud and only once and awhile and only with the key on..

I unplugged the most forward plug of the module and the buzzing is gone. I guess now I need to decide who gets these hot $10. Money well spent in my opinion

glad it worked, but I think RoyLPita said airbag diag module first in post #7

Whomever you all feel is fair. I'm a man of my word. I'm very appreciative. I would have never figured that one out. Never knew such a module existed

the forum has always been free for me - I say put the 10 bucks toward the module you need, and hope it works out ;)

That's true, but I was desperate for answers. I'll split it between the two. They hit the nail on the head. I only need to replace the bulb in the cluster.

Ourobos
12-13-2014, 10:35 PM
Definitely the air bag. If the bulb in the cluster is gone, and you have an airbag code, it will do that. It's the blue box on your video. FYI 93 is year specific on the computer also. Best bet is to get a bulb in the cluster first so you can see what the specific code is, then go from there. If you don't care if you have airbags or not, you can simply remove that blue module, no beeping, but no airbag either. You don't have airbags now technically, since it has a fault code.

what did you do? just unplug the module? Perhaps it needs to be working rather than unplugged...

I only unplugged the front plug (closest to the firewall) and that stopped the constant dinging. Light was off for a day or so.

well, since the air bag is disabled with the module unplugged, just remove the bulb?

I may plug it back in since the light is back on to see what happens.
