Richard passed away in his sleep on Friday morning. Christine spoke with him Thursday afternoon. His health had deteriorated in the last 2 weeks. He had his sense of humor until the end. I had the good fortune to see him in Oct. at his home in VT. He was thrilled to see some of his Marauder Family!

Rest in Peace, Richard

R.I.P. Stogie Bear !! :(

Here's a pic of Richard at Carlisle 2014. He is in the center enjoying some shade from the club tent.

Richard was a very remarkable man. He was generous, passionate and had a wicked sense of humor. I'll never forget that grin. We first met him 2 years ago in New Hampshire. Although he was well into his 80's and his health was failing, Richard was a true car guy at heart and had no trouble keeping up with the rest of us. Last June he showed up at Carlisle with his 2nd Marauder (Supercharged no less) Although he could no longer drive, he was so proud of the car. His friend, Christine, drove while he rode shot gun grinning from ear to ear. We last spent time with Richard in August up in New Hampshire. We loved having him there and he was still living his life to the fullest.

Eric and I want to thank his daughters, and especially his devoted friend, Christine, for making it possible for Richard to come to our club meets. Our condolences and prayers go out to them. May they take comfort in knowing that so many of us thought so highly of Richard and will miss him very much.
Rest in peace, Stogie Bear.

Beautifully said, Paula.

I agree with his having a "wicked sense of humor"...remember the night the group got pulled over on the way back from the McAuliffe Center?

I'm glad I had a chance to get to know Richard a little over the past few years. He was a true class act.
