Well, after the dealer repainted my 2 rear quarter panels, here are the stricking results  The rear quarter panels dont match the rest of the car. See picture comparison with trunk. They burnt my window gasket with the buffer, and left a nice 3d effect all over my car (this is called buffer burn :fire: ) and the original cracked clearcoat problem is all over the hood. Im going to the dealer on monday to confront them about the piss poor job they did with my car, and i may even send these pics to ford to see what can be done. I'll keep you all posted.

I warned you not to look
Man...that is just AWFUL!!! The Body Shop Manager, Painter and Detailer should all be FIRED for letting that out the door.
Stay on them and make them have the WHOLE car repainted...their expense...at a place of YOUR choice. Do your homework, and find the right place.
Sorry to see you have to go through this.

As TAF said keep on the dealer or FMC for a complete paint job. That paintwork sucks.

My suggestion? INSIST on the Regional Warranty Rep from Ford being in attendance to sign off on a complete repaint of the car or otherwise rectify the situation to your satisfaction. DON'T let them "fix" it, what'll end up happening is they'll improve it just to the point where it's iffy whether or not the regional guy will get on board.

Hey! Not to steal your thunder but, been there done that!
My dealer (Lawrence L&M) tryed to fix my clearcoat after I returned from MV-1.
Said they wanted the car 2 days had it 10 days?
The body shop re-painted the hood, roof, and trunk lid.
I also have a "two tone" marauder:mad:
After weeks of trying to talk to the service manager I stop by the local Ford (SVT) Dealer where I buy vans for the Company I work for. (Haldeman Ford)
One of the Owners agreed to look at it:)
They brought in the Zone Reps:)
They rest as they say is history:):):)
I go in for a complete warranty re-paint on May 24:)
I heard everything from "well Sir it's a black car and black a hard color to work with".
to Sir it's environmental damage"mad" not covvered under warranty:mad:
Like Logan said get the Zone Rep.involved do not settle for less.
Hard part is to keep a cool head!!
I will send you a pm with more info:):)
Good luck!

Man that is a crappy efffing paint job take it easy and follow Logan's advice. It's absolutely imperative to involve some higher ups at FMC. Good luck and don't let these jerks at the previos dealership touch your car again.

Monday is my day off, so i will make sure i get in touch with the offending dealership and coporate as well, at least you can see the damage in the pictures perfectly. Because, with no light on the car, it looks great, the second ANY light hits it, its all over. I cant wait for monday!! :argue:
At least i know its not just me now too, i kept getting the same BS about its a black car, environmental damage, and so many other issues. hopefully i can get someone to get the rep involved!!!!

Well, after a visit to my dealership, i found that they will be no help at all. For the buffer burns, they INSIST that wax is the cure all :uzi: As for the rear window molding buffer burn, they tell me they have a "secret" formula that will hide all the mark :bs: They wont fix a darn thing, just cover up their mistakes. So i took customer services' advice and went to a ford dealer who will be contacting the regional rep for me, since my original dealer WILL NOT call the regional rep for me. (Their probably too embarassed!!!!!) Hopefully they'll call me soon and set up a date to look at my car.

Man! That looks like Ray Charles did the buff work and he even took some time to clean off the compound. I think I'll live with my horse-s--t factory paint. :( I'm sorry, but that place must have some 2- bit hacks working under the oval. I wish you only the best. Find a better place, resto shop or somebody with 1/2 an eye to do it, then send the bill to FMC. Good luck talking to a district rep. I'm fighting with them over my fish bowl headlamps and I have never been granted anything. Your paint is much more important. If any of the Ford honchos ever return my calls (Jessica Simpson will leave my bedroom on Christmas morning before that happens) I'll send em your way. I'm picky too, and I feel that nobody should have to go through that with any car.
Best of Luck,
Eric

I owned a 1987 Escort that had the same problem. It is deeper than paint since they stripped the car and repainted the whole thing. Get rid of the car while you can or you may never get rid of the issue.

I went through this exact same thing last year, follow Logan's advice. Contact the Ford regional rep. before going back to your dealer.
Have an appointment set up for you, the rep., the body shop manager, and the dealership general manager or his rep. Then everyone is there all at once. Tell the Ford rep. that you want the car to be repaired at a shop of your choosing. They most likely won't go for it (the dealer has to have the change to fix thier screw up) but it will work to make all the managers insure that a good job is done. Beacuse if the Ford rep. is on board, and the dealer screws the job again, they will not get paid by Ford and then they will be paying for the shop of your choosing to fix it right.
Best way I've found to get in touch with the rep. is to call another dealer and ask them to contact the rep. for you.
Hope I've been of some help.
Rod.
