I used the 3M restoration kit and although they're much clearer, still very pitted. I ordered the X-Pel film...

I really don't want to put the film on my pitted headlights, although maybe the adhesive will fill in the microscopic pitting?

I'd buy a new OEM set for a reasonable price but a used set would have to be near-perfect. Most sites I've checked don't have them in stock.

There are no FORD/Mercury factory headlights left in stock anywhere. all that is avail is from those who have them ( I have a pair brand new with xpel film, they are not for sale ) or aftermarket DEPO brand and TYC brand have seemed quiute good from what I hear.

If your're going to get new I would try to find TYC brand if you can the Depos that came with my car were junk can not aim up at all, found another used set of Depos for free that were the same. And the light pattern is junk. My TYC headlights are near perfect. Would still like to find an OEM set though.

I guess TYC it is. I'll do a search for them. Didn't realize OEM were so scarce! After checking out some reviews, saw some complaints about the back inside flaking and seals separating.

Didn't realize they were tough to come by. I ordered a new factory set last year just to replace the originals but never did. I should install the after market depo's I bought a few years back instead.

I'm up for it as long as it's a nice day and no snow, salt on the roads. Mine is under a car cover for the Winter since I got myself a little 4x4 as my DD.

Let me know what you come up with and when.

I'm sure eventually some Crown Victoria or Grand Marquis owners who eventually gets over the novelty of having Marauder parts on thier car will eventually sell us thier used parts.

From my 2 experiences (1 Marauder and 1 other) with Depo, they are junk.
Nothing is as good as OEM.

I agree about OEM,,but they don't exist so better find a suitable replacement..Then try TYC brand, I hear good comments about them or tape mag lights in there.

I searched Green Sales, Vintage Parts, Partsvoice, Rearcounter, Parts International,etc.

When using the original part numbers (3W3Z13008BC & 3W3Z13008BD) there are none out there anywhere.

But Parts International gaves a superseded parts numbers (3W3Z13008DA, 3W3Z13076AA, 4S4Z13N019AA , F4DZ13N019A , F4TZ13N021B , 3W3Z13008CA , 3W3Z13076AA ,4S4Z13N019AA , F4DZ13N019A , & F4TZ13N021B )


Try Tousley Ford for 3W3Z13008DA and see if that one is a Marauder one for that side.

Searched eBay for "mercury marauder headlights" and in the first 3 - 4 screens saw 6 listing for new pairs from $280.45 to $405.66. All had the correct black mask inside. Didn't look at individual listing so do know the manufacturer.

Lights are pictured as TYC... Sold by AM auto parts and $20 cheaper than on their website with free shipping.

I emailed and called asking what brand assemblies they sell, all they say is parts are of the highest standards but would not confirm brands they sell. Much more difficult to deal with auto parts suppliers than firearm parts suppliers...:shake:

Rock Auto is almost the same price. Right is $138.89 and the left is $141.79 for a grand total of $280.68 but without bulbs and sockets. What is the socket? The pictures of the ones you found on eBay look like they include some wiring. Is that the socket? Rock Auto's site also says Various Manufacturers.
