View Full Version : Anyone drink lemon water?

I started this recently. Having a glass of water with 1/4th of a lemon squeezed in it. This will increase your multablism. Sorry if my spelling is off. The trick is to drink a glass before you consume anything at the beginning of your day.

My question is what temperature should the water be? I have heard warm, cold and room temperature... all over the board.

Also is a glass a day all that is needed or is it the more I drink the more it helps? I totally dislike the taste so I only wanna drink it for benefit alone, not as a enjoyable beverage.

If any of you know please post up and your experience.

I have done this for 5 days and lost 3 pounds already... along with a super strict diet and exercise. Time to drop 15 pounds by march.

Dom, fad diet tricks don't work, or if they do, they're un-maintainable for the long term. Just eat properly, get some exercise, and enjoy life. You already eschew alcohol, drugs, and tobacco, so that's the biggest part of the battle right there.

Its been working so far, but it takes a lot to lose weight... again. Lemons alone do not do it, but they seem to help. My mom did this every day of her life and now she is in a f_ing hospital. My dad smoked and drank nearly all his life and is walking around and underweight.

I guess it comes down to luck sometimes, but I have heard this lemon water thing from multiple people.

Lemon with water does help.with upset stomachs though. As per loosing weight, all you really need to.do is cut the diet or regular soda, avoid sugar as much as you can and stay far far far away from bread(including chips and crap like that). Its very hard but you will notice 10lb lost in 2 weeks.

I say this because I had to get on a strick diet do to my sugar level being borderline diabetic. Most importantly, it runs in the family do that worried me. Got into a strick diet of avoiding what I stated and lost 10lbs in 2 weeks. Its been 3 months now and ive lost a total of 20 lbs. Im not staving myself but still avoiding things that I dont really need.

For sure. No soda, no chips unless multigrain, but that's like once a week, no sugar in coffee unless at work because it tastes like ear wax... I do not eliminate everything, but if anything those bad things are once a week... if that. My biggest problem is eating late. Sometimes I do not clock out till 5am and will still eat dinner at 8pm... so I am really hungy right before bed. Work never has a given time for dismissal. Ever.

A lot of things factor in.

I heard that cold water is better than room temp because your body works harder to warm it up to body temp. Then again I have the body of a 18 year old boy so take it or leave it lol.

Eating late is a bad thing. Its all will.power man. Tell you what, once you start a strick diet, you will be moody as hell for about a week or so. Your stomach will start shrinking and you will be able to put less food in it. Omce again, will power. Try and keep active. Go for walks. Take the stairs instead of elevator. Its always the smallest things that hep. And stop eating all that fast food crap. If this helps then good. If it doesnt help.then you need to go to some kind of specialist.

I have lost 50 pounds and gained back 10. Its pretty easy, but timing for late eating can be something else. The lemons help digest and seem to keep me really full when I eat a spinch salad.

Cold water it is.

I try not to eat within 2 hours of sleep. 3 if I can help it.

I only drink water now. No sodas, tea, juice or anything. Only water and sometimes Gatorade. I lost inches, no real weight. I use to.drink sodas sometime and loved Tea.

I use a 1/4 wedge of orange over frozen water cubes....
with 2 shots of Evan Williams on top!
After drinking it....I don't care about my weight!

I would have zero energy to exercise and that is a really fast way to lose your muscles. Maybe I would have tried that, but right now my arms are as thick as a 45 record is wide. I don't wanna lose my strength.

You should drink 1/2 oz. of water for each pound you weigh. Room temp works best per the heart Doctor's.

Lemon is only for taste.

Dom, my daughter in Orlando lost 180 pounds in one day.....really! She divorced the *******....LOL....sorry, couldn't resist....eating healthy and some exercise is the way to go, obviously....your profession and lifestyle are working against you....good luck....my wife just said to drink a glass of water before you eat....every little bit helps....regards....paul

Here is the funny thing. I have been running on my treadmill for about 4 days out of the week and lift. I gained a pound, but I am stronger. So I am gaining muscle quicker than I am burning fat.... or muscle is coming in a fat is leaving. Fat is bulkier, but muscle is heavier.

It's new to me. Time to run tonight.

The lemon water seems to do something, but it not the sole reason for weight loss.

Portion control, never put more on your plate than you could hold in two separate hands.

No carbs after 8 pm.

Excercise

Don't eat crap, aspartame is much worse than sugar.

Simple system overload. Your intake port is much bigger than the exit. I know that some will disagree.

You need to drink more water.... or simply drink water.

That's what Seattle Sutton says on her radio commercials...if you don't lose weight doing that, you'll never lose it.....good luck, Dom...it's a tough commitment....I'm going out now for a bacon cheeseburger w/fries and a beer (lite beer, of course)....and I'll have a glass of lemon water first....PS: enjoyed Private Instigators on WGN

Just FYI - lemon water will help keep kidneys from forming stones.
When you get old and decrepit like me, you end up learning these semi-useless facts...
