Dumb question, but, when replacing thermostat what is the correct position? When taking it apart, it fell out before I got a chance to see it, so please don't answer with "Installation is simply the reverse of removal".

Not sure of t stat position , but make sure you "burp" the system of air or it may overheat. steps can be found here:

As it turns out, to make a long story short, the proper position of the thermostat upon installation is to have the springs up and the V-end down. Idled the car for a good hour and it never over-heated and now I have heat. I'm ready for whatever winter has left. The best part of this is it only cost me $24. A shop invoice would of easily been 10 times that.
