If you use an 03 tranny on an 04 you'll need to make a tune adjustment. I don't know much more. Do some research.

I would find a 4R75W out of an 04 and be done with it , or better yet rebuild what you have!

I'd rebuild it. Just find a competent shop.

Just did mine yesterday, reputable local shop, replaced everything including installing a rblt TC. Wanted $1915 and after seeing the look on my face from sticker shock and me haggling a bit because they had originally told me it would be minor based on the fact that it was just a leak and the car ran and shifted fine, they did it for $1750 - This should give you an idea what you are in for in terms of price

To be honest you still got ***** on that price. When I got mine rebuilt after I first bought the car I paid 1100 for a full rebuild, including removal and installation, and came with a 3yr/36000 mile warranty.
If you have the means to remove it, pm 88grandmarq , he is pretty much the 4r7XW trans master!!!

with a rebuilt TC? sounds like you got a smoking deal. I shopped around here (after the fact) based on what I needed, everyone was in the $1700-$1900 range

All in all under 2 grand isn't too bad especially since you got a rebuilt converter and some pulleys installed

not having to rebuild it at all would have been much better!!
