Opinions needed

I'm desperately wanting to widen my rear wheels. Only thing is I don't have a spare set of wheels and I just bought new 265/50/18 Nitto's with maybe 400 miles on them. You think I could possibly sale these tires pretty reasonable? I'd hate for them to go to waste, plus I could use the money for some new tires for the widened wheels. Thanks for opinions in adavance?

Research the purchase price new, deduct 25% and offer them for sale on this site and Craigslist etc. They would be a good deal for someone without tax and should sell well.

I would pickup two extra wheels and have them widened, then you have two spares.

No that tire isn't speced for a 9.5" wide wheel , i think the max width for a 265/50 is 7.5"-8.5"

I would buy an extra set of wheels but that's more money and they aren't cheap. I don't mind not having an extra set of wheels, just didn't want to lose on tires

Yes ,I get it... that's going from spending $1000 or so to close to $2000. Big difference for me. I don't drive mine enough to really need to swap them out like thay anyways

I wish I could see one of our cars with widened wheels in person. I've been looking at pics and they don't just jump out at me. I'm sure it looks good, but how much better than the 265/50's I have now?

I have wondered about the 265 vs 295 on widened wheels for when I get boosted. The 265 Nitto's still spin pretty easy. Not as easy as the old BFG 245 55. I think boost will blow the tires off no matter what size! Maybe the extra 30mm of contact area will help...:confused::dunno::burn:

I can tell you there is absolutely no comparison! you don't want anything less than a 295 on a widened wheel , a 265 would look like a total joke.

Widen wheels then I guess I can go ahead and swap axles while I wait 6-8 weeks for the return.

Had the tires removed and also had the tire shop check the tires for tread depth. They have 10/32nd depth. I'm going to post them for sale in the classified section
