Well, i tried to get my pullies installed today, i had the fan out and the car up in the air. I just could not break the crankshaft bolt free!! I tried using a strapwrench and also tried using a special pry tool to stop it from spinning, it just wouldnt budge. Plus, the pulley puller i have is too small, so i need to bring the car into work so i can use the air compressor with an impact gun and try to break it free. I also need to rent a larger pulley puller. The install should only take about 30 minutes, IF i had the right tool!!!
Hopefully i'll have the pulleys on before the end of the week!!!!!

been there man. if you unbolt a little metal cover plate in front of the torque converter, and spin the crank, a large enough hole to put a screwdriver in will turn up, then the screw driver will get pinned against the bell housing, and you can unscrew the crank bolt... alternatively, you might be able to stick a screw driver in another pulley holes and wedge it against some part of the engine but be careful not to damage the pulley. and to get the pulley off, $13.00 for a harmonic balancer puller which is what you need.. it will bolt into the crank pulley and come off real easy.. look up some of my posts in "pulley install confirmation" thread...

Well, i used the shops impact gun today, the bolt STILL will not break free, We lubed it up, waited, tried everything, no such luck, it looks like i'll have to bring the car to a shop to get it done.

p.s. What is a good price to have the pullies put in. I got quoted $170 so far.

$170 just for installation?! As my good buddy Speedy Gonzalez would say: "Holy Frijoles!" That's WAY too much...I normally do these kinds of things myself, but I don't have air tools, so I paid the only guy I trust to work on my cars (besides me) to do it...$65...took him under an hour including answering his phone every 3 minutes...and he bought the coffee...

If it can wait until Saturday, I have a 24" breaker bar which is probably all you need unless you're having trouble anchoring the pulley. (write/call me).

At the risk of sounding really stupid - the crank bolt isn't left hand thread is it?

Worked for me...I haven't the time or space to collect any special "one-time use" tools. I went to my dealership, spent 120 bucks, and didn't look back.
