I posted this over on the CV site today and thought I would share with you folks. I had been trying for a number of years to find out how many Sports were made in the '01 model year with no luck at all. I wrote to Ford back in 04 or 05 and then again in 2011 to no avail. Last year at a car show a friend suggested I try Marti Auto Works. I went on their website and sure enough they have access to Ford's database up to 2007 MY. About 2 months ago I decided to order a report to see what comes back. So here is the news: For the 2001MY there were 762 Sports produced. Mine was 42 days behind schedule. Of the 762, mine was 1 of 54 produced in Toreador Red with Medium Parchment interior. Kind of neat to now have that information. According to the breakdown, of all of the Crown Vics produced in the 2001MY, only 1,694 were Toreador Red. I just wonder what the delay in production was since it was originally scheduled to be built on 4/19/01, but was not built until 5/31/01. Makes me wonder if possibly a supply issue with one of the Sport components. I guess I will never know that one.

That's neat that they offer Marti reports for newer Fords. If you don't mind, how much was the report? Only 762 Sports made in 01, that's way lower than I thought. I wonder what the exact number of 2004 Sports produced.

I also ordered the mailed version of the report as well. If you don't order that, you get a PDF you can print. IIRC it was in the $50's. Took around 2 months until I received the report.

That's not too bad, I was expecting it to cost a lot more based off my assuming that they cost a lot for 60's and early 70's muscle cars.

I think (at least for me) it was worth the cost. Now I have something additional to frame and display with the car at shows.
