Saw a huge cloud of smoke in the right hand lane of a 4 lane highway today. Looked at the top of the could and spotted a dark blue 96 or so Camaro. Appears to be two teenage kids. Smoke was POURING from underneath the engine compartment. I pull over to help what turns out to be a guy in his late 20s early 30s...and good thing he died at a stop light, made it so much easier to get that thing out of the way of traffic (his 7-8 year old son wasn't very good at steering as he couldn't see over the dash...and his braking skills were non-existant.) So we both pushed (I couldn't believe other people beeped at him to move!), me steering from outside. To add to his troubles his cell phone was uncharged so I let him use mine. I also reminded him to turn his engine off, last thing I wanted to happen was for the chevy to blow to bits.
Anyways, he said his trouble was his transmission, that he had changed the fluid today (I'm guessing he didn't do a great job) but he insisted the transmission was about anyway. He had just picked up his son from school, and he was a good kid, very quiet.
So what do you guys think was wrong with it? The smoke was white, coming from the bottom of the engine, from where the transmission was. It was an automatic...
