Excited to be working with Dan. Many thanks to those who recommended Silver Fox to me.

I was scheduled to receive the transmission around 6/15/15. I emailed Dan today and he shared the revised delivery date is mid-August, at best.

The new Livernois motor is scheduled to arrive by 7/15/15. Hopefully Dan can pull the date in. Else I wait.

Same. While quality is usually worth extra time/money, it's just a trans build.....

In northern CA, nobody wants to produce a 500 hp ready 4R75W.

Who else can I turn to?

Produce and build are two different things..Produce is for retail sales, Build is for single units based on specs one wants to meet. I cant believe no California or west coast trans shop cant build a better trans.

ADTR (http://www.adtr.net/) had no recommendation
Schuck's (http://www.schuckstransmission.com/) has so solution nor knows anyone who will provide a street/strip 4R75W

Google searches yield out-of-state options:
1. THMotorsports (http://thmotorsports.com/i-1739995.aspx?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_content=1739995NOFITMENT&utm_campaign=GoogleShoppingSea nNOFITMENT&adtype=pla&kw=&gclid=CLvMh7e4jcYCFZSGfgodsysA 1A)
6/16 update: They state no experience with Marauders and recommended Lentech - ouch. Lentech was once great, but the owner sold the business and the new company has run it into the ground with poor quality material/parts. Many complaints on the forums about Lentech.

2. Darrin Burch of BC Automotive in Danville, Indiana (http://www.mustangandfords.com/featured-vehicles/mmfp-0904-2004-mercury-marauder/4r75w-four-speed-automatic.html)

I welcome vendor name and contact information (in CA or otherwise).

Your engine bulder has no one? BRG cant recommend a trans builder in Cali? Call other performance shops that do car builds and ask them who does trans work, MMR etc..The stock trans has easily held up to 500+ hp on here..Just freshen yours. don't need a $3000-4000 trans for 500 hp.

Yes, but after 30 years, Macy's transmission is nearing the close date - retirement. KC then asked Schucks, but they do not work on 4R70 or 4R75W. Next, we tried ADTR. I will call MMR on Monday, but their reputation is in decline.

I saw Oregon and Monster from my Google search. Both seemed more truck related. I will add both to the list for contact on Monday.

Thank you for the assistance.

Is there anything wrong with your trans?? There is a LOT of 500 hp Marauders out there shifting perfectly fine with well over 100,000 miles. Honestly, anytime you have something built your chances of failure seem higher to me than OEM.

Oregon performance only sells rebuild parts, not whole transmissions. It just seems strange that in CALI, home of hot rodding, SCTA, NHRA, and 70+ years of car builders doesn't have a trans shop to rebuild a trans (4R75W) with a few upgraded pieces. Call any Mustang clubs, dyno shops etc..

KC, BRG Racing, has had too many Marauders with over 75,000 miles (mine is 98,000) see transmissions bust soon after 500 + hp. So, he 'advises' the owner to rebuild the transmission and torque converter. It is my decision to obtain a beefier street/strip transmission.

I want the new transmission to last and last and not go through another rebuild within 5 years. Dan at Silver Fox agreed my best choice would be a hybrid between the 700 and 950 allowing for everyday drive comfort but ready for fun at the strip. But 15 weeks, jeez!

SVT Performance directs people the Lentech, which is no longer a reliable product. Maybe MMR can direct me. If I wanted to take on the challenge of integrated a custom transmission, I could buy a Hughes model. But Hughes does not sell a whole or rebuild kit for 4R70W/4R75W. And Hughes sells a ton of Ford race transmissions for the Mustangs.

Recall,
* Chris at ADTR does not sell or know of a Panther performance transmission
* Schucks has nothing
* Hughes has nothing

Most CA Marauder owners have no where near 500 rwhp (friggin CA Emissions). Most CA Marauder owners are running stock or rebuilt stock from local transmission shops, which is fine for 240 rwhp (stock) - 350 rwhp. I will be near 500 rwhp and I am told stock will not hold up for long.

Pick the trans vendor you trust most after comp shopping.
Order. Wait.
Your engine is how long away? Plenty of lead time is on your side.

What you are told and what happens are two different scenarios. As mentioned, many marauders here with 500+ on a stock trans other than a maybe a converter change and a j-mod. Any competent trans shop can surely freshen a 4R75W, pm 88grandmarquis I think here and ask him what parts to get, he rebuilds them regularly and knows them well.

My trans is stock except for a stall converter and the guy I bought it from weekend drag raced the car regularly. My tune is more conservative at 455 rwhp but could be pushed higher. I don't drive mine daily or even weekly but it has seen its share of the track before I owned it.

Thank you Zach!

Spoke with Fred at FBPerformance (http://www.fbperformance.com/ViewTransmission/?TransmissionID=76) this morning. They have done tens of Mercury Marauders, all be it mostly east coast with several models for 2003-2004 Marauders. And the time to delivery is 10 days (includes shipping of 4-5 days)! My quote will include a torque converter and tune per my driving style request, which can be changed by my engine builder to best suite my needs.

FBPerformance has authorized me to share the price quote (will post soon). I need my engine builder to examine the specification, warranty and perform a Bureau of Automotive Repairs and BB report on the the business. Looks promising.

6/16 update: Contacted the staff asking about a performance 4R75W replacement. The unit (http://www.monstertransmission.com/4R75E-4R75W-Transmission-High-Performance-2WD_p_6159.html?lt_c=1&quickcart=1#.VYBELPlVhBc) available has great features, although I have no interest in manual gear selection feature. Still waiting for a call back to discuss warranty and delivery schedule.

$5,421.00

I am required to send my core, which will add $ for removal and cleanup before shipping plus towing my car back-n-forth to my house and storing in my garage until time to install. Wow, the damn Ford Racing engine cost $5499.00. I do not need Zach to tell me this is nuts.

Even with a 12-15 week delivery date, Silver Fox remains the best option.

Although you still could have rebuilt yours for less than silverfox..prolly by half..it's your car do what you want, you've already overspent on it right?

Oh my, they are bad news. Good catch sir.

Unless a viable alternative is found, I am staying with Silver Fox and waiting until September. The Livernois motor arrives in three weeks. Nothing to connect it to.

500rwhp on a good condition trans with stall, street tires should last. you are wasting happy drive time building all this high end stuff.
If your goal were 700+rwhp track car, I'd say build everything at once in harmony
A 500rwhp street car is easy peazy. fix things as they break, if they break.
but, it's your cash man....

410-425 rwhp (non-aspirated) followed by an ADTR Stage 2 Vortech blower, which should get to over 500 rwhp (12 psi). Recall, I must pass CA Smog, so 450-500 rwhp is great stuff in liberal EPA California.

And I am Google'ing tailshift lubrication mod to learn what that is. :)
