Any of you that have upgraded your alternators have a very good used one that they would sell?
If so let me know!
My Son is graduating and money is to tight to buy a new one at the moment. :depress:

Looks like some links to wrecking yards, which for an alternator may not be a bad idea. Put a new German over-running clutch and bearings in it, check the brushes and slip rings and you may be good for a long time. The original Ford regulator in my experience is a solid unit.
What I would not do is buy a new alternator from the usual suspects at your local Chinese auto parts dealer. I was desperate and a long way from home when I installed a Brand New O'Reilly alternator to get me home. Did not even last one year before turning on the battery light. Bearings weren't sounding to good either.

If yours has failed or is intermittent, it may just be worn brushes. If that's all it is your best bet is a full rebuild.

Back when I went from 6 rib to 8 rib pulleys it got dropped. Has not charged with full voltage since. With just running the a/c it runs at only 13.1 to 13.2 volts. Think one of the diodes may be shorted out.

When I bought mine at the Stealership last fall, parts guy told me it was the last one in north america. He had to ship it from a dealer in Thompson Manitoba.
There wasn't a jobber anywhere who had one....a couple tried but handed me crown vic alternators and said it would work. They wont, plug is diff.
Best of luck.

From what I've read, they are suposed to the same for 03-05 mercs lincolns and vics. Marauder included. Case anyway.
