Looking to buy a "Shop Vac"

Hey Guys - Looking for your opinions on a good shop vacuum. Looking for a Wet/Dry vac good enough to vacuum my daily drivers but also able to handle picking up a fair amount of debris around the garage and maybe some light construction materials.

Looking to stay around ~$100 (under preferably but will spring a bit more for a nicer vacuum)

Best shop vac i have ever owned! stay away from craftsman vacs , unless you like buying every 2 years!

I read mixed reviews for the Craftsman vacs. Maybe I will stick with a Shop-Vac branded vac. Price is a bit steep for me, any other suggestions? I may bite the bullet here and get the suggested as I am looking for something that will last me a bit, but looking for a few more options before committing

I've had the older version of that Craftsman for over 20 years, still works great!

I have two craftsman shop vacs a small one and the large one. I have had them for over ten years and they still work good.

As far as shop vacs go, I have 2 of the Home Depot orange store brand vacs, one wet/dry, the other dry only and they have both been great. I'm sure that you've noticed, but the craftsman brand as a whole has gotten a lot cheaper in the past 7 to 10 years. To the point that I won't buy anything from sears. I have a craftsman shovel with a lifetime warranty and the sucker has broken 3 times in 2 summers. That's just around the house use, I'm not a contractor. There's a lot of reading about the decline of Craftsman quality online.

Whatever you chose get one with at least 5hp.I prefer the smaller vaccumes they are easer to move around and the hose is smaller in diameter to detal inside of the car and doing steps.

I've still got my Craftsman 16 gallon that I used almost daily for 25+ yrs in my construction days. Still works great. All I've ever done to it is change the filter.

the one at the shop is awesome for cleaning up the grinding area. the extra length hose and the remote switch on the handle is a bonus :banana2:

Craftsman is good, had one for many years. I now have a Ridgid (one of the big ones) from Home Depot and it works great. I also have a "Shop Vac" brand smaller unit and it is garbage.

Bought this when my basement flooded, and it's AMAZING. It's quieter than my household vacuum cleaner. 14 gallon capacity and 6hp, plenty powerful. Plus it's dead nuts on your budget. You won't be disappointed.
