Dick Van Patten, best known as Tom Bradford, head of the Eight Is Enough family, has died at age 86 from complications from diabetes.


Quick.... who was his first wife in the first 4 episodes of the show??

if you're old enough to remember, he was the son on the tv show "I Remember Mama" .....the "old days"....black and white, small screen, get up to change the channel, etc.....LOL :confused:

Yes, I'm old, and I remember this show (Nels, Lars, Dagmar). Peggy Woods played Mama, I believe.

Aired on, I think, Friday night along with The Life of Reilly. Later on, after adjusting the rabbit ears (antennae) my dad and I would watch wrestling featuring Antonine Rocko (I know I screwed up the spelling).

Then, at some point, all 7 available channels would sign off and nothing was on the screen except a logo or static.
