I did one on a cv sport I had when previous owner painted it black to look like cop car. I bought automotive spray paint that was mixed on the spot and put into aerosol can then used good spray can of clear coat from same place and wet sanded it with 1500 after drying. No one could tell it was ever painted

I brought mine to a body shop and they painted it for me for around $100. Looks great after over 6 years

Got the panel back today. Looks great. Now I've seen some who have painted the back up lights and tail lights. Not sure about doing mine.

The lights are done with VHT Niteshade.. a translucent black that darkens with more coats, then usually followed with a clear coat..They sell it in spray cans in the auto parts stores. I'm not a fan of it myself when it gets too dark..I like the stock tint, Hotrodbob.

I was not going to paint all of the light just the sides and the two strips. I have some Niteshade. The more I think about it I'll leave them alone.
