Just wondering if anyone has experience in this. Calculating some future expenses. I won't be yanking an engine out of anything from a junkyard, will have to have a mechanic do all the work. What am I looking at bill wise?

Ah yes, just stock replacement for me. Stock engine is more than enough for myself. And rehooking up some of my bolt ons like steel works headers and exhaust.

I'm not sure myself, gonna venture $4-$6k, Might want to talk to MartyO, a member here with MOs Speed Shop..he is in the NW area outside of Atlanta. He has been on the forums since like the beginning of MM.net. They do a bunch of Maraduer work, both stock and highly modified.going to depend if you buy a reman from like jasper engines or buy a used motor and have it rebuilt

These motors were used in relatively few vehicles so finding a good one to rebuild may be a challenge.......rebuilding yours may cost $6K-$10K depending on what you want inside and what your goals are!!
As said before contact Marty......he has a line on "Remans" that have a good warranty......I would have gone that way had it not been so far to tow mine!!:shake:
Good Luck!!

The labor cost will depend on how much your "wrench" charges per hour.

Gotcha, I will reachout to him and see what he says.
I'm not looking to add on anything extra. Just a rebuild of my stock engine, as she nears end of life.

The whole bottom of the block, heads, gaskets, machining, Even the crank. Same cams though. I know they didn't change the knock sensors. (Ask me how I know!) They unfortunately broke a wire when they hooked the motor to the trans, which threw a CEL, and had to have two O2 sensors installed before it was found out. It technically cost me a little bit more to get all the bugs out.

It cost me $ 7,000.00 that included removing my old engine and installing the new engine from Ford with a 100,000 mile warranty.
