View Full Version : Speed Control stopped working..

Just does not work as of two days ago... checked fuses... they are OK... before I take it to my dealer... what are some possible ideas on what the problem might be..?
Got an airbag light too... just came on ... never came back on after I stopped and restarted the car..?... weird...

My negative cable on my battery was loose from a bad install...caused some of the same symptoms you describe.
Cleaned and re-tightened, all problems cleared up....Good luck!

It was a clock spring on my cruise contol issue. Expensive part and labor = $484.00 with tax.

Check the fuses in the distributor box under the hood. Check the horn and cruise control fuses. Mines had issues until I replaced both.

Mine has a similar issue, but the cruise control and the horn are non-functional. I replaced the clockspring, but it didn't solve the issue (only paid about $150 for mine, and it was worth replacing the old one after hearing the rattling inside). I checked all the fuses but couldn't find a bad one, and maybe I'll just replace them all anyway, see what happens?

If someone has a wiring diagram to verify this, but I used to have one, and it looked like the horn and cruise control received power from the same lead coming up the column, and I was under the impression that since replacing the clockspring didn't fix the problem and all the fuses looked fine, maybe there was an issue with the connector at the end of the clockspring.
