These days, your info is out there, period. A phone call confirmed today that my personal info was released by the recent OPM breach. A year of free credit monitoring is offered. If anyone is concerned about any info shared, you can count on it. It's a different world out there.

It helps if you have a very supportive bank. :)
Cheers!

Correct. But how many folks you know would know how/where to do that? The default should be no sharing.

The issue is that devices are becoming more and more "smart" and interconnected, but people are actually becoming dumber and don't want to do icky things like learn how to change their SSID, or whether WEP is more secure than WPA (it isn't)...so, just like auto manufacturers claim their cars have lifetime fluids so owners won't have to learn maintenance, tech manufacturers turn on everything by default so the user can just take it out of the box, plug it together, and it works.

Welcome to the dumbing down of 'Murica.

Beyond that, a person would have to dumb as a stump to use a Microsoft OS 1st offering... :shake:

I learned with ME, others learned with Vista, others didn't learn at all.
