What is recommended for long life plugs?
Any issues with Denso Iridium's. Any plugs that don't seem to last or do well? Any that stand out as the best?
Thanks.

A good rule of thumb: use one heat range colder for every 75–100hp added.

Would they be better than the NGK TR55 3951 or the NGK TRIX 7164 ?
Would the NGK 4177 need to be changed often/yearly?
Keep a .060 gap?
Thanks.
I always did Motorcraft/Autolite for Ford and Champion for Dodge/Jeep.

Replacement interval is effected by mileage, etc.

Always.. always check the gap.To expand on that, just like there's no such thing as "lifetime transmission fluid", there's also no such thing as "pre-gapped" plugs. The manufacturer has no way of knowing your application. Sometimes it's a happy coincidence...

Marto, sorry to ask.
My car is not yet supercharged and has 29,000 miles and 17,000 miles respectively. I don't know if either had been changed yet.
4177 to 45 gap??.
Seems like 13 years, regardless of mileage or lack driving issues might be a good time to changed them(?). Yes?

My local flaps INSISTED I buy another # NGK Plug.... it really doesn't matter which one it was, on fire up,motor ran so ragged that I shut down.
Took an original plug , laid on counter and said "THIS ONE ONLY""8 please".
Now running smoothly . gapped a little wide (according to this thread) but servicable.
I will be buying the NGK 4177 gapping to .045. and installing in the near future,as I know that Marty-o has seen more than I can count.....

Mine is running great, better than the 97,000 mile motorcrafts that were in it anyway, but I also know proper gapping is huge on plug performance, I just went with what the underhood said to gap at, but as you said sounds like Marty has been around the block a time or two and knows whats what.

Today I replaced original plugs with 154,800km on them ( miles ? ) They still looked good. I run the car pretty hard, with WOT at least a few times a week. Run Shell 91 every 4th fill-up, with Sunoco 91 between. Shell cleans out any crap left behind? If I had known the Motorcraft were that good, I would not have replaced them with the NGK. Hoping I get another 150k out of these.

TR6 are used on supercharged cars a lot as they are a cooler plug, and can be used on NA cars. I don't know the differences.

TR6 are used on supercharged cars as they are a cooler plug, not helpful in a N/A car..wrong plug to use.
We recommend the 4177 (TR6) in both NA and SC Marauders.

NA cars can benefit from a cooler plug even without a tune? or it doesn't really effect anything versus the hotter plug. I guess I got bad info some time ago. I blame the internetz.

It's my understanding that you can add more timing with a colder plug.
