before I do a 410 install . what is the rpm at 70 mph as opposed to stock gear ratio . I know gas mileage is a thing of the past with this lead slead , so what is the expected mileage with that gear change . stock motor , kn intake , SSW headers , and SSW high flow cats . any inputs welcome . thanks

There is lots of info on here about that very same thing..use google to search mercury marauder.net 4.10 gear change as our search feature doesn't really pinpoint specifics.
2500 rpm at 70 around 21 mpg, but actual will be lower as you wil find you mash on the gas pedal more as she launches

4.10 instead of the stock 3.55's will increase the RPM's by 200 at 70 MPH and you'll lose 1-2MPG.
Can we make one of the 1,000+ 4.10 threads a sticky???
Please?!?!?!?!

I'll do some research over the weekend to see if one of the 30,000 posts has all the info in one place. :)

All the info you need to know:
The Marauder was originally spec'd to have 4.10's

I have never heard of any MM owners not regretting the switch from 3.55's to 4.10's. Most say they should have done it sooner......

Quoted for truth; my DTR has 4.10s...after acquiring my blue that is all stock I forgot how much stock sucks...
Bottom line: do it; you'll love it. And if 1-2 MPG breaks your heart and budget; you bought the wrong car.

With an electronic limiter of 107 MPH?

With an electronic limiter of 107 MPH?
Don't think the engineers were thinking about top end.. probably better acceleration from a dead stop.
FYI..... the info about the 4.10's came from Steve Babcock "The Father of the Marauder".

I'm not disputing the information, just musing about the tradeoffs.

This is news to me, where did you see this?
With the 4.10's you will need the appropriate tune, suppose you could limit yourself to 107 but why:dunno:.

The Marauder is speed limited to about 124 MPH because of driveshaft harmonics, with 3.55 gears. Most of us remove the limiter in the tune, but that doesn't do anything about the driveline. If Ford were to apply the same electronic driveshaft speed limit with factory 4.10 gears the limiter would be 107 MPH: (3.55/4.10) X 124 = 107
I hear mine start to "boom" above 100 MPH with 3.55s. And I had the balance checked when the new U-joints were installed.
