Will I went to replace my S/C belt and not going to happen. First getting off was hell. Then went to install the new one and no way was that going to happen. I got a Gates Green Strip K080510 that the parts list said to use. It says it is 51 1/2 OC and the Gator is 50.00. May be I have a wrong belt. Any one have some advice.

The correct Gates belt is KO80510. I've never had any issue with replacement.

May be a stupid question but are you unloading the tensioner Bob??

This will sound odd but this works in other belt applications, turn belt "inside out" the OD is larger than the ID where the belt is measured and then once in desired location turn it right side out again.

Yes I did unload the tensioner. I just not sure what I was doing wrong. Have installed a lot of sup. belts.

Smaller s/c pulley will give you a little extra belt room :D

I have to remove the blower idler to install new belts then unload the tensioner and fight the idler back in......need 3 hands to do this well!!:argue:

Not sure what your tensioner setup is.
I have a Thump-rrr tensioner with the additional gripper plate. The gripper plate is in the way of full travel so I have to put partial tension on the tensioner, then remove the setscrew, then move the tensioner some more to get my belt on. Then reinstall the travel-stop setscrew. Also, I have to put the belt on the ribbed pulleys first because of the lip, and then slide it over the smooth edge of the idler pulley on the tensioner.
Maybe some of those ideas will help.

The "Gates Green Strip" has very little stretch and the "Gator" has a lot of stretch, like a rubber band.

I was going to add, may take two people. That tensioner does need to be pulled back a bit..
Glad you got it sorted
