She wanted it and I needed to forget about society.
All cans, all outside.
Day time pictures later.

I hope you had like 70 cans for proper coverage cause if you didn't lay enough proper coats down it won't be durable and will be a royal PITA to get it off, that's if you can get it off without damaging the clearcoat.

Actually I think it may be a generational thing. Us older guys just have more a experienced taste than some of you young guys. Ass if fine if it is the correct gender and not too wide. Ass does not belong on a car though. By the way you posted it here so I am fairly sure you were looking for comments. Have fun with it.

Disney land wants you back for your job as grumpy. Give them a call, they have a great retirement plan and bingo night close by.

Come on guys... Some of these comments just arnt right. I agree to the generational thing. When's we were young "primer" was unfinished and needed paint. Now you can buy a $120,000 Mercedes in flat black if you order it that way.
Flat colors are in style, and "style" is in the eye of the beholder.
Might not be "our style" but it is still a new style. I think it is cool. I wouldn't do it, but that doesn't mean someone else shouldn't.

Plasti dip doesn't look good on some cars, mostly larger ones like SUV's. Trim and wheels look ok. The posted pics aren't flattering.

Flat black.... Not my thing, but hell, I have a DTR, so what do I know? I say if the owner digs it, then it's cool.

Looks ok, but I bet it comes off if you wash it with a power wand, or automated car wash.

We never plan on taking it to a brush wash. Another clear coat and we will be good. We are going to a nice restaurant tonight and will have them valet this thing. Maybe next time we will drive the van. :P
It's my anniversary present to her.
Personally, I think this look is best on older cars, not modern SUVs, but like I said, I like it now more than the way it was.
As far as generation.... think about it this way. Whatever you did when you were my age, might have been looked down upon by older people. 30 years from now there will be something going on with car culture that I probably don't like done by someone half my age. Same will go for those people when they hit the age. Nothing ever changes. Some people say "Kids today", but all you have to do is stop at the word "kids". It will always go on. Good or bad.
The intention of the thread was to share our work. If you like it or not that's up to you, but it's not going to change our minds on ripping it off.... actually, I have no say. It's my wife's truck.
As for anyone considering this, stock up on blue tape. You will need it and use at 4-6 coats for everything.

It would be pretty easy to do. Just use flattening agent in the clear coat and it will be flat DTR, might look kinda cool. It would be different certainly.

Thanks for looking out for me, but I'm already retired and enjoying it!
I'm sure that many others will join me in wishing you the best of luck in landing that job as Goofy. Just thinking of you reaching that milestone in your life of earning above minimum wage warms my heart. Gee, maybe your wife can quit one of her jobs when you hit the big money.
