Before i start ripping things a part, I ordered all new LED's for the car and i have no IDEA how to removed the gauge pod in front of the shift. Do i just pull it forward and it unclips?

Help.

Pull shifter all the way to the rear......grab both sides of the gauge pod around the back and pull out and up....sounds like you are destroying it but it comes right out!!

Make sure both metal clips are on the locking tabs.......one always seem to want to pop off!!:argue:

I think I have some spare clips if you happen to lose one........they can be very elusive when they escape!!:(

Good Luck!!

I tried LED's one time and didn't like it. The light dispersion was not even and I could not make the HVAC controls match. Went right back to bulbs immediately.

I have all LEDs in my instrument cluster, gauge pod and EATC. Light is brighter and better dispersed. Maybe you just got the wrong bulbs?

This!, i was going to post all the different bulbs that i tryed and how they look, I ordered $100 worth of leds from ebay, every style of light the store i was shopping at offered,

1- because i wanted to try them all

2- because the more you ordered the more you saved.... i need an adult.

While we're on the subject of the gauge pod and LEDs, I replaced my gauge bulbs with LEDs not too long ago and very recently they've been flickering on and off, sometimes worse than others. Is this a wiring problem? Is this a problem anyone else has seen?

The flickering is caused by the quality of LED your using. I use one supplier and they seem to have a smaller failure rate than others I've used.

it is possible that the LED is failing, but 99% of the time, its caused by bad contact with the power or ground.

there are cheap leds out there that only have one power and one ground lead per side like this

You need to order the better quality ones that have the power and ground wrapped around both sides like this.

if Mr fastblackmerc has kits, i would order the kits from him. I am in Canada and the headache from ordering anything from the us is just to much.

All my plugin LED bulbs have the dual contacts.

I can get anything you want / need.
