Walker’s Daughter Sues Porsche in California Over Fatal Crash

Paul Walker’s daughter sued Porsche for wrongful death Monday, claiming the sports car that her father was in when he was killed suffered from numerous design defects.

The lawsuit filed by Meadow Rain Walker seeks unspecified damages for defects that her lawyers claim kept the actor trapped in the Porsche Carrera GT when it crashed and burst into flames in November 2013.

Walker was on a break from filming the seventh film in the “Fast & Furious” franchise when he was killed. He was riding in the Carrera GT driven by friend and business associate Roger Rodas when the car spun out of control, struck three trees and burst into flames on a street in Santa Clarita, California.

The wrongful-death suit claims the car, which was marketed as a street-legal race car, lacked a proper stability control system and safeguards to protect occupants and keep it from catching fire after a collision.

“Absent these defects in the Porsche Carrera GT, Paul Walker would be alive today,” the lawsuit states.

Doing stupid s/h/i/t while driving or riding in a vehicle can kill you. Vehicles can have very big teeth that bite very hard when being stupid in public.

By what I've read and seen, Paul Walker was a good, likable man that got caught in the jowls of fate. Don't know jack about his daughter, but I'm not quite sure where she gets off tryin to pull this stunt...

Driving 90+ MPH around a sharp corner with the original, 8 year old tires still on the Porsche GT had nothing to do with it ....
it was all poor design by the manufacturer.

There's more than a little hypocrisy in this thread. Some of these quotes could have been said about another incident and were not. Those that did were criticized.

Porsche, along with all auto mfgs, should not make a car faster than humans can run. Our minds and bodies cannot properly function at speeds faster than a run.

For some a jog, for others a walk and others a crawl. Mr. Walker should have been kept to a walk.

Paul walker was the passenger of the car, it's sad to have him die the way he did

She won't get a dime out of Porsche unless they found something wrong with that car, unfortunately it all burn to the ground

determination of liability and is applicable when plaintiffs/claimants have, through their own negligence, contributed to the harm they suffered

the driver of the car sure contributed to Walkers harm. I'm betting breaking posted traffic laws will out weigh any manufacturers liability. It would in my court.

The ONLY person she has any right suing is the driver. She is only suing Porsche in an attempt to get easy money. I'd say shame on her but she would not comprehend the words so it would be a waste...

listen, you guys can say whatever you want. My best friend is a lawyer for ford and we just talked about this. not only is she going to get money from them, its going to be a very large amount.

if you really want more info, i can have him explain it to me so i can explain it to you guys, this stuff happens at ford all the time. A ladie just won a case because her tailgate opened up and broke her nose.... i'm not joking. the negative attention alone is screaming a settlement.

Actually a suit or interpleader will be brought against the dead dude's estate. Happens all the time.

good point.
After I got paralyzed for life, I had no suit to file.
driver - over 18, no insurance, no assets, dead.
can't touch his parents assests - he was over 18
nab the state for him on the road illegally without insurance? no bueno

nothing in the free cup for me :shake:

likely Walkers buddy had some assests/estate = she'll get that.
I so doubt Porsche will be judged negligent in any way.

With smart phones/cameras always at your side and DNA testing today, I would have sued. Back then, it never really entered my mind. Too hard to prove. I was already at work when I found it. But I should have written a very, very angry letter.
