Was walking my dog this morning like I usually do every morning noticed a few blocks away from me in a nice area - when I came closer saw a for sale sign on a impala SS - looks to me it's been around the block - just by walking around paint seems to me green but faded in some spots - Front grill would have to be replaced leather seats a few of them will have to be replaced has a tow hitch on it and the Rims will have to be there cleaned really good or replaced - looks to have 125-165 k on for miles .

What would be the value of this car because I'm sure it's going to need a little work ???

want a 2900 mile one owner one? My friend has one for sale..rarest color for 1996..dark gray green metallic.

wouldn't your money be better spent finishing your blower build that has been listed in your signature for forever? just sayin..

I want to say the only part left to buy is the alternator bracket - than the cost of tune and install  Maybe I should change the signature to slow and steady Lol

Bad interior needs paint

Bet he's asking 4000 but would take 2800 or less

Unless it's a really nice car( doesn't sound like it) then who wants another project that your gonna loose money on?

Better off buying low mile one like Rubbercty mentioned, only if you can't live without one

What was the deal with those ignition systems?
I hear people comment on how unreliable they were.

BTW: I almost bought a 1996 Impala SS....really liked the car, but needed a 4WD SUV more, and bought a 1996 S10 Blazer with the (350 SBC missing 2 cylinders) 4.3L Vortec V6.
Got many, many miles out of that Vortec with only a leaking intake manifold gasket as a problem.

BTW: That green color SS is rare....only have seen 2 or 3...ever.

The green is the rarest but not like marauder blue rare..they made approx. 10-11,000 dark gray green metallic out of the 40,000+ made in 1996

AH Yes - The ignition wiring wheel [ cant remember the correct name] was mounted in the crank harmonic balancer area also I took a "slate blue" 96 home that was 2 years old from lindsey cadilllac with 21,000 miles and after all was said and done i would have gotten a better deal on a brand new fleetwood .:bigcry::alone:so it was returned.

Not everyone had problems with the opti spark, i had 78,xxx miles on my original one and the car was going 10.82 with a 150 shot..

I bought the car brand new in 1995 and was getting 17/26 mpg..... When it had 800 miles and was stock it went 14.92 in the 1/4.

How do brand new stock Marauders compare ??

Stock for stock the MM and the Impala are very close. The Impala has more low end grunt so it gets off the line quicker as it should with more than a liters worth of displacement.. 1/4 mile times are similar, more of a drivers race. 3/8 mile track if there were such a thing I think the MM is quicker every time. Gas mileage is similar.

What about a 2900 mile 96 in the rarest color..green grey metallic. Although they did make 10-11 thousand in that color, it still is the least production one.

Well for general knowledge- 6,306 SS's for 1994 in Black and 21,434 for 1995 and 41,941 units for 1996 [ with analog gauges and console shift and obd2 computer with re profile cam shaft ] and the Grey green Metallic was the rarest along with the Cherry burgundy color:banana2:
