I sorta knew George. My friend had a car show in his back yard every year and he came up for like the last 9 years. I got to talk to him many many times. ON my honeymoon we went to LA and I spent a morning with him. He was kind and got us in to the VAULT of the Peterson Museum.
Guy had more lead in his pencil in his 80s than most do in their 50s.
Pioneer in customization. Legen for builds for TV /Movies. CLose personal friend of Elvis. Who did live with him for months. George knew everyone in Hollywood.
Godspeed George

A great list of his creations here https://www.google.com/search?q=george+barris+car+pic s&rlz=1T4GGHP_enUS533US533&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0CB0QsARqFQoTCNXJq63u-8gCFQvYYwodMJwE7Q&biw=1097&bih=494

but they don't show the Super Marauder. Mercurys get no respect.
