Just to help all the fellas here I work at a reputable shop and we use Identifix and Snap On SHOPKEY. If you've got DTC's I can enter the info and get lists of the likeliest causes and confirmed fixes along with test results and procedures. I also can give component locations, labor time, and torque specs.

A 17 digit VIN will allow exact vehicle results but searches can be made using make/model/year/engine code. Drop me a PM an I will try to assist with some fixes that may be driving you nuts. FYI, I am not charging for this and I work Mon-Fri only. Also any information will be copied/pasted from the results page. :cool5:

Identifix is a great tool for information and pointing you in the right direction to diagnose the issue with a car. However, I feel its information is not always accurate. In fact a lot of it is just plain wrong and/or guesses. But there is a lot of good information as well and it will list a lot of common fixes for issues but it might not always be the case with your car. I am not trying to discourage anybody from using this tool but remember to understand you need to diagnose the car before looking through identifix. I feel identifix is breeding a world of parts replacers instead of actual technicians/mechanics.

I agree!! However, when confirmed fixes dominate the page that's always a great place to start. 9 out of 10 times it IS right. A Pontiac Torrent here in limp mode with no instrumentation was determined to have a corroded connector in the driver kick panel. It was a confirmed fix and that would have been the last thing I considered looking for.

It will at least give people something to go by and places to check out instead of blindly stumbling about. Also like stated earlier don't just start swapping parts without trying to investigate to see if it is the problem.:banana:
