Like the title says I have been doing a bit of research. And it's time to redo my brake system.Found that quite a few members were using the brake motive d/s rotors. Seen a lot of positive reviews on them wondering if everyone using them still feel the same about them. And what other combos are other marauder owners running. Also I know the frozen rotors are top notch but with an engine rebuild in the works those are out of the question at the moment. Last, I've been thinking about picking up the stainless brake line kit from TCE anywhere else i should look?

Depends on your budget, there's mild to wild combos, you can do Jerry's 14" big brake swap brackets, and buy the rest of the kit , or you can buy new R1C drilled, and slotted rotors with TCE ss lines, Wagner thermo quiet ceramic brake pads, or you can get jiggy with it and buy a complete kit from TCE

IMHO... the best way to go is the upgrade kit from TCE. It's expensive but you get what you pay for.

Be careful with your selection. Much of the less expensive stuff is not as good as OEM.

The Ss lines alone make a big differance.

Whats the difference in jerry's kit and zach's? And how much you guys think I would be spending approximately to do either big brake kit.

Jerry's and Zack's kit is one in the same, they both contributed. I think I read around $700 for most set ups with this kit. The kit is just the brackets, you need to source your own rotors and calipers and pads and TCE has different SS lines for this kit. This is a front only kit.

I put the TCE SS brake lines on my stock brake system. Such a positive improvement I consider this a inexpensive upgrade. Highly recommend it ! :banana2:

I do not recommend the 14" Baer kit, for a little more money get the Wilwoods.:burnout:

That site hasn't been updated in a while, i talked to Baer directly, and as i said those kits are no longer available, if Alternative has a set or two on shelf those are the last.

Alternative also does not buy and resell like mail order, they will sell them, but they are going to install them. and as Motownsaid, that site is way past due for an upgrade. Jegs, may still have a set on the shelf. I remember looking once and they popped up.

I could give two *****s how many sets are still floating around etc, just didn't want anyone getting stuck with them because in my experience they are crap.

Baer kits are good brakes, I had a Baer kit as well, no complaints here, only reason I sold mines is that they didn't offer a rear kit , and had no interest fabbing a custom rear kit.
Now that I'm running the 15" willwood kit couldn't be happier!

I'm on TCE's website now so for 166.00 i can get the stainless lines and Zach's brackets to upgrade the front's. If I did this any other kit i can use to upgrade the rear a bit. 3k for the willwood kit front and rear is out of my price range for now.

The brackets are not offered on TCE website. $166 will get you the TCE lines. Have to check with Jerry, lji372 for brackets. There is a thread around here with info

Here's the link to Zack & Jerry's brake upgrade: http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=94024
What I don't think you understand is that you don't use your stock calipers; you can pitch those. This kit uses C5 Corvette calipers, 2007+ GT500 14" rotors, Jerry's brackets, & the TCE lines.

Same here. After SS lines and $199 rotor/pad set from ebay, I put my big brake kit purchase on hold - the SS lines are worth gold.
Upgrade #1 before power mods.

Yeah I'm definitely doing the lines now just deciding between the big brake kit or any decent aftermarket rotors and pads any specific year c5 calipers or they're all the same

Did you buy the SS line for the stock caliper or zacks bbk? I don't think they use the same ss line because of the placement of the hose into the caliper.....I don't know specifically because I have completely stock brakes but this is my next mod.
