According to various reports, Shearer was racing alongside Brian Davis in a race being filmed for an upcoming episode of the Discovery Channel program when Davis got loose and tagged the quarter panel of the Pontiac, sending them both careening out of control.

Hope the drivers walked away ok dam shame for that new Pontiac. I was talking to the Butler brothers racing at the Pontiac nats, they were working a new engine package to go after K.Kelly. But that car is junk!

The crew of Street Outlaws actually do race on the track, that would make a boring TV show. Because of their popularity, they do a lot of match racing on the track.
