what car magazines would you recommend

i am going to ask the wife for a couple car magazine subscriptions for christmas.

i'm less about ads and more about short articles.

i currently don't get any.

i'd ask for maxim but i doubt that will get passed my personal moderator.

i'm thinking "car and driver" and "hot rod"

Car craft is good for actual lower budget (mostly) builds, add ons etc.. Not that you need that.

I like Car and Driver, my dad got it for years and years, prolly where I picked it up as a favorite. They do good tests and real world driving. My subscription is out right now, did not renew, just put mom in a nursing home and sold her house so maybe in the new year when things are not so hectic I will renew.

I'll second Hemmings Muscle Machines, Hot Rod, Car Craft are all good choices. I had all of this months issues at the shop, you should have taken them with you on Saturday....

Pass on Car and Driver... Had that one for years, they changed it up a few years back and didn't like their personal opinions creeping more and more heavily into the test drives and comparisons...
