Anyone have a home theater projector they want to sell? Anyone using a certain brand? Ours died and I am looking to replace but am on a budget.

I project a screen 166 inches wide by 96 tall.

Don't know what kind of budget you have, but this looks to be a great deal. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Runco-VX-22D-DLP-Projector-with-Cinewide-and-Autoscope-AMAZING-PRICE-/181943252987?hash=item2a5ca9b7 fb:g:~cQAAOSwHQ9WVy8J

Well my budget is much less than 8 grand! wow. Actually trying to stay under the 500 level which in name brand machines means getting a business projector. I have read reviews that say those actually perform better than most of the off brand "home theater" units, as many of the off brands actually do not put out the amount of lumens advertised.

I was hoping to find some members that are actually using something in their home. That 8 grand unit sound like an awesome unit, BUT way above my level. I would rather spend that much money on another Rauder!

Yup, the 8 grand projector is a good deal. I didn't know the limits of your budget. I am tempted to offer the guy 5 grand to see what happens.

I have always been very pleased with Optoma projectors, they are a decent price and perform extremely well. They have a very wide throw range as well so they work in many different setups.

This is the best website I have found for information on projectors. http://www.projectorcentral.com

They have a calculator that might help you narrow the selection down. Happy hunting.

I have one that's probably around six years old with next to nothing bulb usage. I think it is a DLP? I traded a car for it and a motorized polar screen that together were $2,000 sale priced at that time. I really haven't used it all since my 60" plasma I purchased.

I'll take a look at it when I get home and give you some more info on it.

I have the mount and HDMI in the ceiling and it is about 19 feet away from the wall I use. I painted the wall with the "paint" suggested and it came out real nice. Spent a lot of time smoothing that wall until it was perfect. We really enjoy movie night down stairs. I project about 166 inches wide and 96 inches tall.

My buddy used a short throw projector that he paid around $800 for and it was awesome. Along with onkio surround sound. Best I've seen yet
