I'm guessing you're talking about the F1s? And you're talking 17s or 18s?

I just placed an order for yokohams 255/55 18s. Has anybody used them?
A520s? I've used them on other cars, they were fine. I ate them up pretty quick, but then again, my cars eat tires anyway!
Well, after lots of thinking, believe I'm going to go with the Nitto 555s, and just deal with it in the winter. (Fingers crossed)

I just put Kumho Ecsta 255/45-18's up front since I got sick of the Nittos and the inherent noise the acquire at about 15K miles!!!
The Kumho's are very quiet (for now) and I can move them side to side to help the wear and noise.....down the road!!
BTW, they handle GREAT as well.....just wish they had 295's for the rear!!
No Marauder
Yep...555's and they ALL get noisy...even the back ones!!
"One Way" tires are for performance and should be replaced frequently to PERFORM properly??
I at least like the side to side swap option with the Kumhos!!
No rubbing or clearance issues at all!!
BTW....Kumhos are made in KOREA!!!!!!
No Marauder
Thanks for the info
I just replaced the Kuhmos on the daily driver with 555s, and even the kuhmos get a little noisy. I think all tires do after a period of time, so the way I'm thinking, since they're fairly inexpensive, just replace them when they do. My daily driver eats tires to the tune of me changing them about every 6 -10 months, and just accept it as a 'nature of the beast' kind of thing. On the Kuhmos, once they get some age, they start getting a little hard too, and lose traction, compared to when they're new.
After reading reviews of a number of tires, balance, vibration, noise, and traction are all factors once tires get some age/miles. Again, nature of the beast, figure I just have to deal with it.
On the Kuhmos, as I posted a few posts back, could use a shorter profile, as long as the diameter 'spread' is maintained, as to not whack out the TC/ABS.
When it comes to all season tires, it's a compromise. A compound that's happy in colder temps is going to sacrifice summer traction, and none of the M&S are really any 'good' in snow. So I figure, why bother?

I don't know if this will come out, but here are some numbers I put together looking at Nittos. I could'nt find weights of the Nittos, though.
The closest match is with the 255 45 18 and 295 45 18 (on widened rims).
The last column is what most folks list - the diff in diameter.
Ok - that didn't work.
The summary is that for Nittos, the closest to the factory front to back ratio is 255 45 18 on the front and 295 45 18 on the back (on widened rims). This yields a 1.34 difference in diameters, compared to the factory 1.3.

a 295/45 is 28.4 diameter, FYI, which is pretty darn close to the 28.5 factory rear diameter....

My 2003 Marauder has the original size tires on it. I live in British Columbia Canada and soon there will be a new law in place that you have to have four winter tires on in the winter. Here is my delema Because the front and back are different sizes will it hurt the car to have all the same size winter tires . I have heard that it might do something to the Computer on the car. Would appreciate any help from the members out there. Thanks
If your car has traction control and you run the same size tires in all four corners the T/C will "sense" the difference in rotating speeds between the front and rear tires (from the programed stock configuration) and will try to engage the T/C, which will affect your ability to accelerate (i.e. the harder you step on the gas, the slower you go). You can overcome this by just turning off the T/C whenever you start up the car.
What size rims and tires you looking at? A number of folks here have gone with 16" CVPI rims and snows.
