    Noisy Eaton Swap Intake?

Got a tune to start the car up this morning and it fired right up, no problems.

I did hear this noise and didn't know what it was so I took the blower belt off and verified it's coming from the intake filter itself.

This noise starts off quiet and gets as loud as you hear it in this video. Then when I shut the car off, you can hear in the video it stops a few seconds after the car is off.

I have gutted my passenger pcv and kept my drivers side stock.

Was wondering if this sound is normal?

Also wondering if it's the aluminum housing of the MAF making it noisy?

    Any help/advise is greatly appreciated!

Do you have a ported blower? They are louder at idle then a stock one.

Mine is ported, and do not have that sound from my intake.

Can you get access to a smoke machine?

With one you would know if you have a leak in just a few minutes.

We use ours several times a week. Call a few garages in town and see if they have one.

That's normal. Remember, when you shut the car off, there's residual manifold vacuum and you'll hear the air as it's going by the TB blades and IAC.

Sounds like my angry car? Just take care into not sucking in small imports unless you have a decent exhaust set up to spit them back out.

Do you not have a PCV valve (metered leak) at all....that seems to be what I read??

If not you need a Cobra PCV valve on the driver's side (since you gutted the OEM one) or you will pressurize the crank case under boost...never good!!

Also the metered PCV valve will probably eliminate that whistle......the blower was not running in the video (no belt), right??

This is a properly hooked up system for an Eaton. (Reversal of stock)
