Anyone running the new Nitto NT555 G2 yet?
I just got new fronts. 255/45-18.
Still running the NT555 265/50-18 on the rear as the G2 is not available in that size.

Wish they had the 265 for the rear. The old NT555's were a little scary in the rain. The graph on the Nitto website shows the G2 a little better in wet (and dry) performance.
Wait, you drive yours in the rain?
My rear 555's are 265 wide and scary ... yeah, just a little bit. Took a 90 degree freeway on ramp the other day. It was about 60 degrees, tires were so-so warm, maybe 3 miles on them in the city. At the apex of the turn, hit a wet patch, now I am looking at the drivers door of the car in the lane on my right. I smiled (more out of shock!), pointed where I wanted to go, feathered the gas and it went where I wanted to ... onto the freeway.
I was very grateful that I hit no one. I was very grateful, no one got hurt as a result of my slide out ... It reminded me that these 555's are not good in moisture.

I run them as my daily tires.. on a set of steelies in 255/40/17...
They are a decent enough street tire.. have enough grip for daily use, th y are seriously lacking in the grip if you want to canyon run..
Then again other set of wheels are Hoosier r7's and another set of steelies with kumho v720..
But as I stated, they are a good daily street tire..
But definitely not a grippy tire by any means..

I got 555's for the front and am very unhappy with them.
All is great except mfg quality is s h! t.
Extreme heavy spots in both.
They would not balance out. Were balanced 2 times & still bounced.
Finally had Road Force Balanced and bounce gone but the 2000 miles 1st put on while bouncing cupped them so now I have JUNK tires that sound like 42" mudders with only 4 or 5000 miles on them.
Never again...
