    Fuel Door sticks out

What would I need to replace to make my fuel door more flush with the car? I have auto fuel door open release feature. Anyways, I seem to recall once thinking I had hit the button but it didn't open the door enough and was trying to force it open. Gave up and realized I maybe didn't hit the button or it didn't take on the first push. Anyways, it's fine, just the door doesn't close flush as much as I imagine it used to. What part in there could I just replace to fix this?

Did you look at the latch yet?
Did you do any type of brainstorming to see if anything could be adjusted or tweaked to solve your problem?

I didn't see anything wrong from a visual inspection. Everything works properly. Just sticks out more when closed not flush. I do see mechanisms where they latch but no visual warping or obvious damage. I guess I'm wondering if those things can be replaced easily and if that would fix my problem.

Mine stick out a bit as well, it's just part of the excellent build quality of the panther platform.

I think it is just the tension on the release. Mine doesn't sit perfectly flush but it's well within tolerance for a production car.

Yeah, it's ridiculous that you'd have to make a 1/8" adjustment to the fuel door of a 16-year-old car.

Ny wife grabbed the locked fuel door and yanked on it, before I could yell STOP!!, it has been sticking out a bit ever since. One day I"ll have time to take a look at it. I hope

I can talk about the panel gaps on my 2016 mustang I bought brand new, or the driveline vibration I noticed on day 2 of owning it, or the interior rattle on the rear C pillar which is a mega common problem... But this is not the time nor place.

I wouldn't doubt that has happened to many of them, hell my gas door was actually repainted at one time but the entire panel on that side is original paint.

I know mine got stuck last winter in like 10 degree weather and the gas station attendant was about to stick something in there to pry it off when I yelled to not bother before he snaps it off.

Heat gun for 2 minutes and it clicked right open.
