So, please tell me if this pic looks good. I did this shot for a friend, and am testing a better way of uploading to my photo hosting site.
Thanks!

it looks clean, good to go.
Appearance is acceptable on my end as well.
Want to discuss composition? j/k
2017 Niro
Nah, I know there are composition issues. I am trying to fix a problem with the posting of my pics. I shared some via email, and was told they were very dark. I have since changed how I am processing and uploading to my host to try to correct the issues of being dark, drab, and not sharp.
That shot is not a good example of composition, but I took it to show the narrow depth of field. It is also a crop. Maybe I'll post the entire shot to show you what I had to deal with.
Here ya go Barry.

It's likely a monitor issue on the receiving end.
Most monitors won't show true colors as we see, and as we captured.
There is a device (on my christmas list) from Pantone, the Huey, that calibrates monitors to show true colors we capture.
My wife *****es all the time if I fuss with images using my Nikon Capture.
They look great on my monitor (which is technically not rendering the colors correctly), and when she prints the edited pics they look like crap off the printer.
I really need the huey before I keep editing.

I think I have proven that the problem is not a monitor on the receiving end. I'm pretty sure it is mine. So, I probably won't be posting any pics for a while from my desk top pc. I may try our laptop later this evening and see if it works any better. What I am sending out must be crap, because my monitor is really out of calibration and I don't think it can be saved.

John,
When I edit pics and want to see them clearly, I run to my laptop.
My tower is running through an HDMI interface with an aftermarket video card to a 42" plasma Hi-Def.
The colors are bright, but the smaller LCD screen on my laptop is actually better.
What monitor are you running?
Mike.
This is the same pic from my Dell Inspiron laptop. Does it look any better?
