    Question Nitto NT05R

Has anyone drag raced with the Nitto NT05R?

I am looking for a Drag Race DOT tire that I can drive to the track.

I previously used the MT ET Street SS but they no longer make it in 305/45/18.

My other option is MT Street SS 305/40/18. The section width is +.4" and the OD -1".

As respects any other options it must be a radial.

    Thank you.

A buddy of mine had a GT500 swapped mustang, made similar power, maybe a little more than you, and he struggled to make clean passes with that tire. Lots of other variables, track prep, weight, suspension setup, etc. If the tracks around you are known for their radial prep, this tire could work for you. If they tires don't work, you got yourself a spare set of street tires! HAHA

The nt05r is a good tire, it will hook up fine. How long it last is up to you.

I use them on Slayer1. They work really well @ Cecil County (1.59 60'). At US-13 2-3 tenths higher 60'.
