Got my 2nd notice re the light control module. This time it says parts are in.
I have not had problems. Should I get it done?

Got my letter today. Says the fix is a bypass in the LCM for the operation of the headlights. Does that mean they are adding a circuit for the headlights only w/in the LCM?
Since the repair had already been completed on mine a week ago, I didn't even bother to read the details in the letter that say .... "Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to install an LCM bypass module kit, which will assume control of the headlight functions, free of charge (parts and labor)." Time needed for the repair is less than one-half day.
Sure sounds like they split lighting functions between the headlights and the rest of the stuff. This lessens the load on the single circuit by splitting into two. IIRC FastBlackMerc's solution was to upgrade the original circuit to handle the load better. Results should be about the same IMHO.

Don"t waist you time with a factory unit it is the same thing. Have Fastblackmerc rebuild yours LMC. Great turn around time far better LMC when done.

Actually Ford is not replacing the whole module as on the beginning. They are now letting you keep your old LCM but they cut some wires and splice an external relay, they simply bypass the internal relay. O wonder what type of relay they use, the internal 10 amp relay didn't do the work I hope they are now using at least a 20 amp one

Get the new LCM. Then, what I would do is get a lighting relay modification kit. I think I got mine for like, $50. What it does is use the relay in the LCM to drive an external relay that then draws power directly from the battery to the headlights. This way the 110W of electrical power are not being drawn through a single little relay that was mostly likely manufactured by children in China.
The kit I purchased has thicker gauge wire than OEM wich means less resistance to current flow. What that means for you is a higher voltage at the lightbulb and therefore a little bit more light.
Ran fine until I upgraded to projectors... in fact I still run the lighting relay mod with the projectors, there is still no sense in drawing 100W of power through a little printed circuit card.
