MVV Update #2 Host Hotel

The host hotel has not been able to fix their web registration rate and suggests we use the phone to make our reservations. Rather than wait any longer for them to resolve the web issue, I'm going to post the info so you can start making your reservations by phone.

To get the $75 rate please use either MARAUD rate code or my name SHAUN DONNELLY. We have 50 rooms booked at that price and can get more once they fill up as long as rooms are available. The cut off date for our rate is 1 July.

Gordon, Chris, Diane and I visited the hotel and check out the rooms. They have all been recently rennovated and look very nice. The restaurant and bar are very nice as well. There's plenty of parking and an area where we can park together. The Hagerstown area does not have a crime issues but we are taking extra precautions with added on site private security and extra patrols from local law enforcement. We will address security at every venue just because it's the right thing to do.

The rooms are blocked from 1-5 August (check in Wed - check out Sunday). We will start on site Marauderville 5 (MVV) registration at 4pm-8pm Wednesday afternoon and continue again Thursday morning at 8am.

If you have been holding off to make your hotel reservations at the Sheraton Four Points in Hagerstown, MD --- time is running out to take advantage of the special rate for Marauderville V. On 1 July, room rates will revert to the market rate. Book before 1 July for the savings.

Hi Folks,
I just returned from a couple of weeks of business in San Diego. While there, I recieved a call from the hotel manager who asked me if he could start using some the rooms we have reserved. They have other groups trying to book for the week. They will honor our contract, but please try and make your reservations as soon as possible, they are getting a little anixous. We currently have 17 of our 50 blocked rooms taken and a total of 34 guests. Several of those are local CAM members.

If you are not familiar with the DC area, $75 is a very good rate. Rooms in DC usually run in the $200+ range inside the beltway. We have our rooms blocked until 30 June. We loose them and the rate, 1 July. The hotel rooms are nicely rennovated and clean. The hotel has a pool in the court yard, a nice sports bar, restaurant and plenty of parking.

Aside from all the fun times planned for the event, most of the feedback I've recieved from people that have attended previous MV's, is that some of the best times were had right in the hotel parking lot... telling lies and trading stories (Sea Stories for you Old Salts) with old friends and making new ones. We've attended the last two and have met some great folks and we are really looking forward to Hagerstown. See you there!

Make sure that you mention that you are with the Marauder car group or mention the codes MARAUD or SHAUN DONNELLY when booking your room. According to a member who just booked today, they will say that they are full up .... except for the block of rooms that MV V has reserved for just the next 5 days or so. After that ...........
