Thinking about drag racing my high mileage Marauder

Car has 156000 miles but runs good. No knocks pings or tapping. Car has been maintained.

Only mod is a K&N intake and some sort of tune, I guess when the intake was added.

Just wondering if anyone else races a high mileage car. I sure don't want to blow it up but plan on adding some low end mods and want some sort of baseline.

    Thanks!

I am assuming you guys are manually shifting these cars at redline. The cars I have raced before I always did.

    Faster times when manually shifted?

I think most just turn the O/D off and mash the pedal.

    As stated OD off.

Anything not 100% perfect both feet up, and make another pass.

95% of the wrecks I have seen is because they won't let up even though it is impossible to make up the lost time.

Post all the times off your slips.

    Good Luck.

I have 154k and plan on doing a baseline pass in the near future. Shouldn't hurt anything.

Probably should state....your auto insurance is likely not to cover you in the event of an accident while racing. It is best to check with your insurance company for more information.

Many exclude from the time you register, check the definition of racing. As respects frequency I see the most wrecks in the Pitt area.
