Installing HIDs in the foglights a PIA??

Takes me about 45 minutes a set, then have to wait for the silicone to dry.

I think he means taking them out and putting them back in. Using the H10 bulb saves so much time compared to modding the H1 bulb holder.

What happens when the bulbs burn out? SOL? This is the only reason I haven't put HIDs in my fog lights...stupid design on Ford's part IMO

I've had my HIDs in for 4 years (foglights) and 6 years (headlights). Haven't had any of them burn out.

Yes, the HID conversion to the foglights makes changing the bulbs slightly harder than the OEM bulbs but it's not too difficult.

How do you change the bulbs if they've been glued in?

They are not really "glued" in, more like sealed in with silicone which is very easy to remove and replace.

Roger that. The guy I bought my DTR from looked like he tried to copy your idea and it went very bad. He tried to use hot glue and lets just say I could have used my fog lights for housing gold fish disco style lol. Now, if using an H10 bulb, will the silicone still be necessary?

Yes, and the base of the bulb needs to be modified.

Added this note to the first post:

NOTE: I silicone the bulbs in and recommend that it be done that way if self installed. Some foglights have water intrusion from the factory and once you get any moisture in the housing it will blow the HID bulbs. Why take a chance?

This is not a one time offer to the first x number of people.

I'll also get you HIDs in any color temperature. I recommend 4300K, 5000K or 6000K. You can go all the way up to 12000K if you want.
