    Front Strut Assemblies

Looking at rebuilding the front end.

Has anyone tried the front strut assembly from FCS Auto, P/N: 1336349?

It fits 03-11 CV's, 03-11 Town cars and 03-04 Marauders.

    $73.00 per side on RockAuto.

If you add up all the parts individually your over $166.00 per side. Plus labor to remove the springs etc.

Just don't want the ride quality or ride height to suffer.

AS conscientious as you are, which is my signal light on heads up info--thank you very much--what makes you think its time for such work--miles maybe---what is there to ""feel"" for to warrant this --curious.

They dont last long. They will ride ok in the beginning but will become very soft quickly. I used them on my wifes ford escape and thats what happen. You get what you paid for.

Just get new shocks for the struts. Should keep the look similar but take the bounce away.

Was under the car and noticed that the rubber seals for the upper ball joint were toast. Figured I'd replace it all.

I'd replace the entire upper control arm from Ford.
The new ones are much beefier than the OEM's due to the CVPI being built thru 2011.

I'd go with KYB up front and in the rear for the shocks.

KYB quality has gone down, many have complained of shocks leaking in less than a year. ymmv

Yeah, I am a victim of KYB "quality", 5000 miles and they were blown. No thanks.

KYB fronts are a tad stiff. I am going to try Monroe SDuty.

I replaced my fronts with AC Delcos and couldn't tell a bit of difference at 190K miles.......OEMs were still fine so I'd just replace upper control arms and see what happens Jim!!
