CJ everyone starts somewhere. Get the basics down and keep going back to get practice. You need to develop a routine. There is a lot more to drag racing than most people think. If you have radial tires non drag radial I would run normal pressures maybe a little less and only do a small burnout to clean off the tires and maybe just a hint of smoke. Anything else is overkill. If you have a drag radial tire drop the pressure to the lower 20s and see how the car responds. Obviously do a little more aggressive burnout on a drag radial. What bugs me is is you only gained 19mph from the 1/8th to the 1/4 mile. Are you sure you had it wide open just asking I am guessing that is the 1st time you let it go through all 3 gears................ just trying to help.................. welcome to the sickness.

Hey Neil and thanks for the tips. And I did have it @ wot till the near end when I felt it get a little loose. I was told that control arms should fix that issue but I'm not sure what it was.

Rule #1 if everything is not 100% both feet up. Coast down the track and make another run.

95% of the wrecks I have seen on the 1/4 are because the Driver won't let up because he has convinced himself the Laws of Physics do not apply and he can turn his car into a Time Machine.
