    Engine Swap - 04 Cobra

Hello CAMMERS....it has been a long time since checking in here. My dear beloved Beast has been down for about 2 years and it is time for the phoenix to rice from the dust of my garage. I have a question...I got a line on a low mileage complete 04 Cobra motor and I need the down and dirty to make the swap happen. If there is a preferred shop in the area as well I would appreciate the information as well. Thanks folks.

It's a bit more work than a Jerry swap ( only one making brackets) but

Relocate battery to drivers side, relocate power steering resivore, relocate alt, add front heat exchanger pump and resivore for intercooler, relocate fuel regulator plug (extend to go to other side) remove cobra oil cooler and use stock filter adapter, custom cot, relocate under hood fuse box ( basically rotate it) and some things I might have missed

Tom Doan did this swap wayyyyy back when.
I can't remember who did the swap for him, but Tom lives in the Burtonsville, Md area.
I'll check his profile to see if he's logged in recently.

So would a rebuild and boost be more economical?

If you have the cobra block most people might keep that, but I take the forged internals of that block replace the bearings rings and check it out, put those in tiles inside your aluminum block from the martyr then take the external parts of the cobra. It was nice to have the cobra crossover tube and the marauder crossover tube to make one, to fit under the snout and go towards the driver side radiator connection

I don't have anything right now. Just weighing the pros and cons of a rebuild versus a swap.

Don't forget to add in labor, you can do your own, sounds like the OP does not, so prolly double the $ to be more closely estimated.
